What forms and particle sizes of dehydrated carrot does Dehydrated Veg offer?
Dehydrated Veg offers carrot flakes, powder, bits, chopped, minced and granules. We can also process to a custom mesh size on request.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for carrot?
25 kg for a trial order. For bulk and export orders the typical minimum is 100 kg.
What is the shelf life of carrot, and how should it be stored?
Carrot flakes and powder carry a 12-month shelf life from date of manufacture. Store in a cool & dry place, temperature below 20°C, in a closed warehouse, protected from humidity and dust.
How does dehydrated carrot compare to fresh carrot in substitution ratio and flavour strength?
The drying process is designed to retain the natural sweetness and nutrient content of fresh carrot, including dietary fibre and beta-carotene, with the convenience of a 12-month shelf life and no cold-chain needed. We recommend requesting a free sample to test the exact rehydration ratio for your specific formulation.
How fast can you ship carrot samples and bulk orders?
Stock items typically ship the same day. Custom orders (specific particle size or packaging) usually take 2-3 working days.
Which industries use dehydrated carrot, and what are its common applications?
Instant noodles, soups and rice blends, salad dressings, sauces and gravies, canned and tinned food products, condiments and baking, soup powders, food premixes, and processed meats.
Do you provide quality certifications and a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for dehydrated carrot?
Yes, we provide a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) and relevant quality documentation on request with each batch, covering parameters such as moisture, ash content and microbial testing. Share your specific certification requirement (FSSAI, ISO, HACCP, etc.) with our team before or during sampling.
What is the HS code for exporting dehydrated carrot?
Dehydrated carrot is commonly classified under HS Code 0712.90 (dried vegetables, other) within Chapter 7 of the Harmonized System. Please confirm the exact sub-heading with your customs broker for your destination country.
Is Dehydrated Veg's carrot safe for direct consumption?
Yes. Our carrot flakes and powder are food-grade, FSSAI-approved consumable ingredients, manufactured and packed under hygienic, quality-controlled conditions for direct use in food formulations.

Dehydrated Carrot Flakes, Powder & Cut Forms
Carrot is one of the few items in our lineup that goes through a blanching step before drying. A quick hot-water or steam treatment inactivates the enzymes responsible for browning and off-flavours in raw carrot once it’s cut — skip that step and a batch can lose colour and develop a flat, off taste during storage, even if the drying itself goes fine. It’s an extra step most of our other vegetable lines don’t need, and it’s the main reason carrot holds its bright orange colour as well as it does through a 12-month shelf life.
Six Forms, Six Different Jobs
Carrot is also the widest form range we offer for a single vegetable — powder, flakes, granules, chopped, minced and bits — because carrot shows up in more finished-product categories than most of what we dry. Powder is for smoothies, soups and baked goods where colour and thickening matter more than texture. Flakes (5x5mm standard, cut to order) go into instant noodles, soups and rice blends. Granules sit between flakes and powder in particle size, aimed at snack seasoning and soup mixes that need a finer piece than a flake. Chopped and minced are cut-size distinctions rather than drying distinctions, used in RTC/RTE meals and gravies where a recipe already calls for fresh chopped or minced carrot. Bits are a small, consistent piece size aimed at canned and tinned RTE foods.
Processing
After blanching, carrots are peeled and cut to the size the order calls for, then dried under controlled hot-air dehydration. Dried batches are sieved for particle consistency, metal-detected, and packed in PP bags followed by an outer carton box.
Where It’s Used
Beyond the general spice and rice blend trade, carrot’s colour and mild sweetness make it a common choice in baby health mixers and cake/bakery mixes — two applications that don’t show up on most of our other vegetable spec sheets. Condiment and processed-meat manufacturers use it for both colour and bulk.
